Seeing people go from nervous on their first lesson to smiling when they pass their test — that’s the best feeling in the world.
"I cannot recommend Andy enough! I just passed my driving test on the first attempt, and I truly couldn't have done it without him. He is hands-down the best instructor, helping me control my nerves and worked with me to build my confidence up and he believed in me from the get go! I felt safe and calm in the car at all times right from the beginning. He was also incredibly patient with my hectic lifestyle, fitting in extra lessons to make sure I was 100% ready for my test. If you’re looking for a driving instructor that will go above and beyond then Andy is your guy!"
What is the best advice you could give your learners?
Don’t panic if you make mistakes — everyone does. Driving is all about learning bit by bit, and the more relaxed you are, the quicker you’ll pick it up. The key is to get the basics right first — Mirrors, Signal, Position, Manoeuvre — and once that becomes second nature, we can move on to the more advanced stuff.
What do you like to do when you're not working?
I enjoy watching my kids play football. They both play for local teams, Kilsyth Athletic & Cumbernauld Colts. I am an avid cook and really enjoy cooking for family and friends. I also enjoy camping and hillwalking, but my biggest passion is going to Ibrox to see Rangers FC play with my son.
One interesting fact about you...
When I was 18, I travelled around India on a Royal Enfield motorbike, and a few years later I explored Australia in a campervan. I guess you could say I’ve always loved an adventure on the road!
"Best Instructor Ever (and part‑time comedian) Honestly… BEST driving experience I’ve ever had. Me and Andy spent half the lessons chatting absolute rubbish, and somehow the man still managed to get me through my test with ZERO — yes, ZERO — driver faults. I’m still bragging. After being unsure if I’d ever drive again because of illness, I was nervous getting back behind the wheel. Roundabouts? Terrifying. Confidence? Non‑existent. Andy? Calm as anything, full of knowledge, and apparently immune to my panic. He got me feeling confident again, kept me laughing, and didn’t even judge my roundabout fear. Would 100% recommend — unless you enjoy failing, in which case… pick someone else!"
