Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Raymond Skea, representing Caledonian Driver Training as a Trainee Driving Instructor. I provide calm, structured and confidence‑building driving tuition, focused on helping learners develop real‑world skills, safe habits, and a clear understanding of the road. My approach is supportive, patient, and tailored to each pupil so they can progress at a pace that feels right for them.

What is the best thing about being a driving instructor?
Personally, there is nothing better than helping someone achieve a lifelong skill. The surprise on someone's face when they achieve something new is priceless. Taking new pupils on an adventure to discovery that they will use to make themselves a safe and competent driver.
What is the best advice you could give your learners?
Take control of your own learning. Never stop asking questions, every day is different and gives an opportunity to either learn something new or learn how to do it better. After every drive reflect on what you did and how you did it. This is the one thing that will make you a more confident, safe driver throughout your driving life.
What do you like to do when you're not working?
I have always been passionate about driving and love going for drive with my partner and the dogs to try and get lost. I have found many fantastic places and met some great people. I also enjoy a round of golf with friends, there is nothing better than a day with friends to bring you back to reality.
One interesting fact about you...
I was a physical training instructor in the army (about 3 stone ago). I have windsurfed over lake Naivasha in Kenya.
