Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Paul and I’m a trainee Driving Instructor with Caledonian Driver Training. I provide manual driving lessons in West Linton, Peebles, Innerleithen and Walkerburn (EH43, EH44, EH45, EH46).

I was a Primary School Teacher for 10 years and I'm a father of 5 young children. So it's fair to say that I'm used to planning ahead, staying calm during unexpected moments, and understanding that we all learn differently.

What is the best advice you could give your learners?

Be proud of yourself that you're trying to learn something new! Driving involves different skills, so it can take a bit of time to develop each one and bring the whole thing together. So be patient with yourself and try to enjoy working towards each goal.

What do you like to do when you're not working?

I love spending time with my children and taking them to the various sports and activities that they enjoy. I like running, walks along the River Tweed, cooking and watching a good game of footy too. I'm also a huge Tottenham Hotspur fan, but the less said about that the better just now!
