Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Mark and I’m a Trainee Driving Instructor with Caledonian Driver Training. I provide manual driving lessons in North & South Lanarkshire and Baillieston.

I chose to become a driving instructor because I felt that my time as a football coach and nurturing and developing the players to become confident and responsible players throughout the years would benefit in other areas of life.

I felt this was a transferable skill and could assist others in learning a new skill and helping them become the best that they could be in their journey to becoming safe and responsible drivers.

I chose Caledonian because of the up to date learning and coaching models. In addition to this Caledonian offer some of the best training and ongoing support in the business through their management.

What is the best advice you could give your learners?

The best advice that I could give a student is to always be calm, level headed and composed. Also enjoy the journey to their driving. 

What do you like to do when you're not working?

I like to go to the sauna, watch football and annoy my wife and grandkids!

One interesting fact about you...

An interesting fact about me is that after undergoing treatment for larynx cancer, I had swallowing difficulties and I was the first person in Scotland to be put through McNeil Therapy to help with my swallow. This has been a success and I am now able to eat and drink normally!
