Who are you and what do you do?
Hi! I'm Stacy (they/she), and I'm a trainee driving instructor with Caledonian DT. I live and work in Glasgow, offering driving lessons in the southside and west end. Before I started training to be a driving instructor, I was an English teacher; so I'm expertly qualified in teaching, learning, and coaching people to retain and apply new information. I have an easy teaching style, focusing on building my learners' confidence as much as their skills. I also have AuDHD, which makes me a safe and patient teacher to other neurodivergent folks and people with specific access or learning needs.

What is the best thing about being a driving instructor?
The best thing about being a driving instructor is my learners! I'm a yapper, and I love getting to know you and tailoring your lessons to suit your skills and learning style.Â
What is the best advice you could give your learners?
My best piece of advice is: once you're in the car, you're no longer in control of your time of arrival! Traffic, accidents, and roadworks are inevitable and will add delays to your journey. Rushing can lead to poor decisions and dangerous driving. So, once you're in the driving seat: relax, focus on the road and traffic conditions, and enjoy the ride.
What do you like to do when you're not working?
When I'm not working, I'm probably trying a new hobby, listening to podcasts with my cat, or practicing my driving skills on Mario Kart.

One interesting fact about me is that I sing in a queer choir that performs locally, nationally and internationally!
